1.2080 steel, commonly known as ASTM D3, is a high-carbon high-chromium cold work tool steel with a chemical composition of 2.1% carbon and more than 11% chromium, which is a highly durable and corrosion-resistant alloy. This steel is defined according to DIN 17350, which lists specifications for various grades of tool steel. 1.2080 steel has excellent hardness, wear resistance, toughness and excellent edge retention and dimensional stability, and it is widely used in the manufacture of tools, molds, presses and other similar applications.

3.DIN 1.2080 steel Annealing

The general annealing temperature of DIN 1.2080 steel is 850-870℃,and the holding time is 3-6 hours,and then furnace cooled to 500-600℃ with the rate 30℃/h max.Annealed hardness is usually below 248HBW.
