Maraging 350 (also known as Vascomax® 350, AMS 6515) is an 18% nickel, cobalt strengthened steel. It is a very high strength material reaching a UTS of 2310 MPA after heat treatment. It is produced by Vacuum Induction Melting (VIM) followed by Vacuum Arc Remelting (VAR).
It can also be readily machined and formed to your specifications. In addition, the aging process of Maraging steel raises the hardness to a level sufficient for many tooling applications.
Maraging steel is used in aircraft, with applications including landing gear, helicopter undercarriages, slat tracks and rocket motor cases - applications which require high strength-to-weight material. Maraging steel offers an unusual combination of high tensile strength and high fracture toughness.

Maraging 350 Steel is generally weldable using standard processes such as TIG and MIG. However, preheating is often recommended to prevent cracking, and post-weld heat treatment is essential to restore the desired mechanical properties.
