Q: How do I verify the actual purity of your 4N5 or 5N titanium bar before placing a bulk order?
A: We provide a certificate of analysis from the vacuum electron beam melting batch. If you need independent verification, you can send a sample to a third-party lab for GDMS or ICP-MS. We can also arrange SGS or BV to draw and test samples at our warehouse. Typical trace elements checked include Fe, O, C, N, H, and other metallic impurities. Tell us which elements matter for your process, and we will confirm whether they are reported.
Q: What trace elements are most critical for semiconductor target manufacturing, and how do you control them?
A: For semiconductor targets, oxygen, iron, carbon, and nitrogen are usually the main concerns because they affect film purity and sputtering performance. Our vacuum electron beam melting reduces these to low ppm levels. We can supply the actual analysis for each heat, and if you need ultra-low oxygen, we can select ingots from the inner section. We do not promise a fixed number without reviewing your specification.
Q: Can you supply 5N titanium in small quantities for R&D, or is there a minimum order?
A: For R&D, we can cut a short bar or a small piece from a 4N5 or 5N ingot. The minimum depends on the diameter and length. For 5N material, we may need to cut from a larger ingot, so there is some waste. Tell us the size and quantity, and we will quote the smallest practical piece. We do not require a full ingot for a trial.
Q: How do you package high-purity titanium bars to prevent contamination during shipping?
A: We wrap each bar in clean polyethylene or VCI paper, then pack in wooden cases or plywood boxes. For semiconductor or medical customers, we can use double-layer clean bags and desiccant. We do not use recycled or dirty packaging. If you need vacuum packing, we can arrange that at extra cost. Tell us your cleanliness requirement and we will match it.
Q: Do you use recycled titanium in your high-purity bars?
A: No. We start from virgin titanium sponge and go through vacuum salt electrolysis and vacuum electron beam melting. We do not add recycled scrap. This is important for 4N5 and 5N because recycled material can introduce iron, oxygen, and other impurities. We can provide the sponge source and melting record if your audit requires it.
Q: What is the lead time for a custom diameter or forged semiconductor target blank?
A: For standard diameters in stock, we can ship in a few days. For custom forging to Φ180 or Φ155, lead time is usually 20–30 working days after we confirm the drawing and purity. The forging and machining steps add time, and we may need to cut a new ingot. If you need an expedited order, tell us and we will check the schedule.
