1.4718 is a chromium-silicon martensitic valve steel with good resistance to oxidation below 750°C. 1.4718 is used to make inlet valves for internal combustion engines and exhaust valves for light duty engines. Its characteristics include good high-temperature strength and high-temperature corrosion resistance, good resistance to oxidation and thermal corrosion, good wear resistance, fatigue resistance and corrosion resistance, suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure working environment.
