45Mn17Al3 Low‑Magnetic Rebar (also known as Grade 917) is a premium high‑alloy austenitic manganese steel rebar, engineered for ultra‑low magnetic permeability, high tensile strength, and excellent corrosion resistance. As a critical material for magnetic‑sensitive infrastructure, it outperforms conventional carbon steel rebar and even some stainless steel rebars in environments requiring zero magnetic interference.

What Is 45Mn17Al3 Low‑Magnetic Rebar?


45Mn17Al3 belongs to the Fe‑Mn‑Al‑C series of single‑phase austenitic steels, stabilized by high manganese (15–19.5%) and aluminum (2.4–3.6%) content. This stable austenitic microstructure delivers:


Relative magnetic permeability ≤1.02 (near non‑magnetic, 1.319×10⁻⁶ H/m)
High tensile strength ≥1200 MPa (far stronger than standard rebar)
Excellent toughness & workability (resists cracking under heavy loads)
High electrical resistivity (reduces electromagnetic interference)
