52100 GCr15 steel is a representative of high carbon chromium bearing steel with good comprehensive performance. Mechanical Properties

1. Influence of quenching temperature. The normal quenching heating temperature of GCr15 steel is 830-860℃, and the optimal quenching heating temperature is 840℃, and the hardness after quenching reaches 63-65HRC. Under the actual production conditions, the quenching temperature can be slightly different according to the size of the effective section of the die and the quenching medium. If the size is larger or the mold is graded quenching with salt, the higher quenching temperature (840-860℃) should be selected in order to improve the hardenability and obtain enough depth of the hardened layer and higher hardness; Lower quenching temperatures (830-850℃) are generally used for smaller or oil-cooled molds. For moulds of the same specifications, the heating temperature in the box furnace should be slightly higher than that in the salt bath furnace.

2. The influence of tempering temperature. As the tempering temperature increases, the hardness after tempering decreases. When the tempering temperature exceeds 200℃, the first type of tempering brittleness zone will be entered. Therefore, the tempering temperature of GCr15 steel is generally 160-180℃.
